Sodexo Clinical Technology Management seeks a Biomedical Equipment Specialist to work with a highly recognized medical facilities group across Lafayette, LA area.
The main role of the position will be to ensure all medical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner. As a team member working within Sodexo Healthcare Technology Management (HTM), you will partner with our Healthcare clients to manage their medical equipment technology needs.
BMET professionals should have:
- Experience repairing, maintaining, and calibrating clinical devices
- Experience in a healthcare facility or setting.
- Ability to make decisions regarding repairs and servicing equipment.
- Have excellent customer service and time management skills.
- Proactive thinking skills to troubleshoot.
- Troubleshoots, inspects, repairs, maintains and calibrates a basic range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments such as: Infusion pumps, Defibrillator, Patient Monitoring, Electro-surgery Units, Endoscopic Surgery Equipment, Nurse-Call, Neonatal Warmers, and IV Pumps.

- After February 28, you must be fully vaccinated before you can start work. Fully vaccinated by February 28 means:
- Obtain the first dose of a two-dose vaccine no later than January 27, 2022; and the second dose no later than February 28, 2022; or
- Obtain one dose of a single-dose vaccine no later than January 27, 2022
Position Summary
Functions as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) and modality expert while possessing skill-set of advanced modality HTM (Healthcare Technology Management) expertise such as clinical laboratory, medical imaging, radiation/oncology, real-time location systems, alarm management, middleware or high-end biomedical devices such as device integration/networking, catheterization lab/electrophysiology monitoring systems in the areas of Specialty-Medical equipment knowledge (manufacturers, models, modalities, capital planning, etc.
Highest level of technical expertise. Operates under minimum supervision and has the ability to make independent decisions. Possess ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain an advanced clinical inventory, equipment and system. May have dotted line supervision of Biomedical Medical Equipment Technicians (BMET). Demonstrates the highest level of proficiency in one modality to the level of knowledge of the manufacture. Has ability to share knowledge regarding areas of specialization across an area or region. Strong planning and organization skills. Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement – Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment
Basic Functional Experience – 7 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting
