Come join the dedicated SodexoMAGIC facilities team at the Walgreens HQ in Deerfield, IL! We’re looking for a responsive and proactive Facilities Manager to lead the hard services team at the Walgreens HQ in Deerfield, IL.
Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities Operations, this manager will be responsible for the day to day oversight of unionized technicians in the field: ensuring a safe environment, managing work orders, managing the work order flow, ensuring on time deliverables, and responding to emergencies with a scope of 16 buildings which consist of 5 campuses and building strong relationships.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A proven track record of successful Facilities Management leadership experience as demonstrated by articulated results and accomplishments;
- Strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, and safety systems
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen with a strong P&L understanding
- Direct experience managing union employees
- CMMS experience
- Exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills
- Strong Leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building
- Experience working in a union environment and corporate setting is helpful

Performs varied and diverse secretarial and administrative support functions for the Chief Executive Officer. Prepares correspondence, reports, screens telephone calls and visitors. Schedules appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries. Requires comprehensive skill and knowledge of organization policies and practices. Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in policy interpretation and setting work priorities. Responsibilities require discretion, judgment, tact and poise. May supervise or provide work direction to lower level administrative staff. Work often involves handling confidential and sensitive matters.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic Education Requirement – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Basic Management Experience – 3 years
- Basic Functional Experience – 3 years
