Job Description

Sodexo has an exciting Human Resources Specialist – Benefits position now available with our Corporate Benefits team in Cheektowaga, NY.

 

This job will work a Hybrid Schedule, the first 2 weeks of the month will be from the office. The last 2 weeks of the month will by

3 days in the office and 2 days from home.   

 

As an integral part of the team, the Program Specialist – Benefits will assist in the day-to-day operations of the department; this may include account reconciliation, auditing, and report generation. They will also work on multiple tasks, prioritizing throughout the day.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Work with vendors to administer union/custom benefits for covered employees (plan set-up, enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA notices, HIPAA notices, Medical Support notices, etc.)
  • Reconciling, disbursing and reporting for health & welfare premiums and pension payments
  • Researching, analyzing and resolving benefit related issues as dictated by collective bargaining agreements, state and federal laws
  • Serve as a liaison to field office human resources staff, unit managers, union funds, union negotiators, and third party carriers
  • Assist with vendor management
  • Working on other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidates will possess:

 

  • Associates Degree
  • 2 Years of Benefits Experience
  • 2 Years of Accounting and Reconciliation Experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory laws: ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA (Affordable Care Act)
  • Knowledge of SAP & ADP (would be helpful)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven problem resolution skills
  • Attention to detail and time management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP and ADP Payroll preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and meet critical processing deadline
  • Ability to handle confidential information

Work is generally administrative or project oriented, but is generally varied and unstructured in nature. Work may involve monitoring for regulatory compliance. Works independently under general supervision.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
