Job Description

Customer Strategy & Planning translates the vision and strategy of GSK’s categories and brands into an actionable set of customer specific priorities (e.g., distribution objectives, pricing, trade funding tactics and effectiveness, merchandising objectives). In addition, Customer Strategy & Planning takes customer & shopper specific insights and helps the Brand team as well as our Retail Partners improve strategies and activation plans.

This position will allow the selected candidate to gain experience working with a Cross Functional Team gaining exposure to Sales, Supply, Finance and Marketing. The candidate will learn how to use data & insights to develop trade strategies that will drive the business for our GSK Brands and the Retailers. This opportunity will also allow the candidate to gain exposure on how decisions and actions effect the Brand P&L and long term business planning.

The candidate will work closely with the Customer Strategy Manager and Brand Manager on a specific project <x{(}>(</x{(}>to be determined) that will influence the business. An example of a project would be redefining the trade promotional strategies for our Cough Cold & Allergy Brands. It will also provide exposure to various levels of management and will be considered part of the core team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Food Marketing, Management or General Business
  • Must be eligible to work in the US at the time of and for the duration of their employment. Candidates will be required to furnish evidence of US work authorization. STEM OPT extensions are not supported.
  • Able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12-week internship cycle (May-July/August)
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of US Retail Landscape
  • Strong communication Skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.
  • Provide your own funding for relocation and commuting.
