Sodexo Corporate Services Division has an exciting new opportunity for a Space Planning Project Manager to support integrated facilities management services for a life sciences client in Cambridge, MA. This role will manage the day to day space planning operations for two multi-site campuses, (composed of 28 buildings) located in Framingham, MA and Cambridge, MA along with some oversight at the Waltham, MA location. The campus is made up of a variety of office, laboratory and manufacturing space.
The role will manage and lead a team of 4 Space Planning Managers, overseeing a slate of projects, and facilitating duties related to managing moves, add, and changes of employees, equipment and furniture.
Advanced project management and coordination experience is a requirement, as is previous experience leading and motivating teams. Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, including clients, vendors and service providers and onsite departments is also required.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 5-10 years of Occupancy/space Planning experience
- Degree Preferred
- Leadership experience
- Excellent people skills
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts
- Experience building and maintaining relationships
- Experience managing a diverse team
- The ability to manage multiple sites
- Flexibility and ability to travel locally to work on-site at client sites, as required
- Experience with CAD software is preferred
- Previous experience managing a large footprint in a corporate environment is a plus
- Experience in space/occupancy planning at a strategic level, plus experience with interior office / lab renovations is highly desirable
Facilities Construction Project Management. Leads or coordinates construction projects, such as developing a new facility, the addition, expansion, or extension of an existing facility, or renovation/alterations to a facility in collaboration with project team, construction site and management. Can develop entry level project budgets, make project assignments based on skill sets of contractors & vendors, build entry level project schedules and timetables, and lead project responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project. Organizes and directs construction personnel, and ensures that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience – 5 years
Basic Functional Experience – 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity within construction
