Sodexo has a new opening for an Accounting Analyst/Accountant in the Contract Compliance & Licensing department at our Financial Shared Services Center located in Cheektowaga, NY which handles the accounting for our North American Operations. Within the center there are many departments and positions so there’s opportunities for growth & advancement.
This role will work a hybrid schedule averaging three days in the office and two days from home plus 10 work from anywhere, this is on top of vacation, holidays and personal days.

This position uses contract interpretation skills and good accounting judgement to provide timely and accurate reviews of system setups. The position is also responsible for maintaining multiple company contract-related databases and providing support for external auditors.
The successful candidate will:
- Consistently apply objective accounting judgment to knowledge of contractual agreements & company policy
- Identify & initiate coaching and training on company policies, procedures, policies and systems, problem resolution techniques and effective communication.
- Interpret Contract language to ensure proper setup in SAP to produce accurate accounting treatment and billing
- Maintain company databases to support detailed analysis regarding contract attributions, inflation, and risks and rewards
- Assist with providing support for external audit requests.
- Utilize technical skills at a high level for in depth global analysis.
- Work proactively to prevent problems anticipating changing operational and client needs.
- Support the financial close process
- Lead projects with guidance

- Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of work experience in an accounting position.
- SAP experience is strongly preferred.

Position Summary
Has working knowledge and experience in own discipline. Assists in the maintenance of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization’s assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers. Performs a range of mainly straightforward assignments. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Functional Experience – 2 years
